"Clark,
thinks are really deteriorating around here.
Your parents are actually snipping at each
other, my mother's drinking again, Perry's
crying because he never got to play Santa
for his kids and Jimmy's depressed because
his girlfriend's a hooker."

Another
Christmas Eve in Metropolis, but this one
doesn't seem to end. Every day at four pm it
becomes noon again and Clark finds himself
dealing with the same bank robber and
jumper, all the while noticing that Lois is
losing faith in herself, Perry is crying
over his kids, Ellen is nearing the nog and
his parents are fighting. They're in a loop,
and he's outside the loop watching
everything deteriorate before him and being
unable to help. All being caused by Mr.
Mxyzptlk who doesn't want to go back to the
third dimension and the only way he will
take everyone out of the loop is if Superman
leaves. Mr. Mxyzptlk wants to be the god of
the earth, and doesn't want the supreme
being around to steal any of his thunder.
The only way to stop him and send Mr.
Mxyzptlk back is to get him to say his name
backwards, so informing Lois she's stuck in
a loop and to not give in to despair Clark in lists
his wife to help bring joy back to
Metropolis.
